Dearest Grandchild,
Today’s letter will deal with the subject of “useful idiots”. This term is a pejorative expression that was supposedly coined by the Communists to describe people they have deceived by their propaganda. While giving accolades to the “useful idiots” , these poor souls were actually despised by their Communist masters. That’s why they used such a derogatory term to describe them.
Saul Alinsky wrote the book “Rules for Radicals” which has been described as the Bible of Community Organizers. We have mentioned this book before, and pointed out that it was dedicated to Lucifer. Jesus said that Lucifer (or the devil) was the father of lies (Jn. 8:44). Lying is therefore an integral part of Alinsky’s strategy. Although Alinsky died June 12, 1972, his ideas are still very much a part of politics in America. Hillary Clinton did a college thesis on his writings and President Obama has written about him in his books.
Here are the 8 necessary steps proposed by Alinsky to produce a socialists society. This brief summary comes from a newspaper editorial by Garret Geer.

Healthcare—Control healthcare and you control the people.

Poverty—Increase the poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

Debt—Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

Gun Control—Remove the ability to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state.
#
Welfare—Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income). #
Education—Take control of what people read and listen to—take control of what children learn in school.
#
Religion—Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.
#
Class Warfare—Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent, and it will be easier to take (tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.
It is not difficult to see this strategy becoming reality in modern America, and “useful idiots” are an integral part of making it so.
Because we believe in God, however, we are not worried about the future. The early church faced very similar problems 2,000 years ago and found comfort in remembering that our Sovereign God is always in control. For example, when the early church was threatened by both ecclesiastical and civil authorities, they remembered these inspired words from the 2nd Psalm: “Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.” (Acts 4:25-26) The fourth verse of that Psalm pictures God as sitting in the heavens laughing at man’s puny attempts to
thwart His divine purposes.
Just think about it! If all of the rulers of earth decided today to stop God, how would they do it? Yes! We have sent a few men to the moon and a tiny module to Mars, but how can such puny achievements compare with what God is capable of doing? How can mortal man mount an attack against the hosts of heaven?
When Sennacherib surrounded Jerusalem with an invading army he was so confident of victory that he offered to give King Hezekiah 2,000 horses to make his attack more interesting. God, however, sent “an angel” to protect Jerusalem. In one night that single angel killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers (2 Ki. 19:35). Remember! When we come to worship we are surrounded by thousands upon thousands of angels (Heb. 12: 22).
Many scholars believe that the 46th Psalm was composed to commemorate the amazing victory of God’s people over Sennacherib. That Psalm begins by remind us that God is our refuge and strength, and a very present help in time of trouble. When the earth gives way, and when the mountains fall into the sea, the people of God can be quiet and confident that God is still in control and that He will someday be exalted among the nations.
While we may not be able to stop the progress of evil in the world, God can!
In the mean while, please remain aloof from the promoters of propaganda that seek to pull your strings and manipulate you like a marionette. You are not a “useful idiot”, so don’t let anyone treat you like one.
