Dearest grandchild,

Last week we wrote about Romans 1:22 and the fact that without God people who think they are wise often become fools. Isaiah addressed a similar problem and wrote: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20) That’s one reason why we need godly leaders. Good government is a gift from God for: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29:2)

During the 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court. On February 25, 2022 President Biden fulfilled that promise and announced that Ketanji Brown Jackson was his choice to be on the Supreme Court. When Senator Marsha Blackburn asked Judge Jackson to define “woman” Jackson declined to do so explaining “I am not a biologist.” The fact checkers quickly came to her rescue saying “Blackburn was displeased, but experts say Jackson’s answer was scientifically sound. There is no sufficient way to clearly define what makes someone a women.” REALLY? DO MEDICAL “EPERTS” ACTUALLY BELIEVE IT IS “SCIENTIFICALLY SOUND” THAT THERE IS NO SUFFICIENT WAY TO “CLEARLY DEFINE” THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN? HOW UTTERLY FOOLISH!

Let’s suppose you have just given birth to a baby in your own home. Do you really need to call in an “expert biologist” to determine if your baby is a boy or a girl? If you cannot tell the difference between a boy and a girl it is frightening to think that as a judge on the Supreme Court you will be making decisions that will determine the destiny of our nation!

There is an old story of how President Abraham Lincoln exposed such nonsense. When approached by a young “intellectual” Lincoln showed him a dog and asked him how many legs the dog had? The answer, of course, was “four”. Then Lincoln asked how many legs the dog would have if we called his tail a leg? “Five,” was the quick response! “No”, Lincoln replied. “Calling a dog’s tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg. In reality, the dog still has only four legs regardless of what you call its tail.”

Sadly, we now have foolishness and the failure to face reality at our highest levels in society. For example, according to the Daily Telegraph (Nov. 15, 2024) “MEN have given birth to 54 babies in Australia over the past year according to official Medicare statistics.” They then “explain” that the statisticians “now allow patients to nominate their own gender.”

The truth is that no one can have a baby who does not have a vagina, uterus, and ovaries. If someone with a vagina, uterus, and ovaries claims to be a man, that does not make them a man.

My good friend, the late Don Smith, said that he spent thousands of dollars on lawyers seeking to get justice in a court of law. Then a friendly judge gave him this advice: “Son, you don’t go to court to get justice, you go to court to get a verdict.” The trial of Jesus is a perfect example of this. The “verdict” for Jesus was not “justice.” The “verdict” set Barabbas free and crucified Jesus. Remember, Barabbas was a guilty criminal who was already “in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising.” (Mark 15:7) Jesus, by contrast, had been examined by both Pilate and Hero, and both had pronounced him innocent. As you know, Pilate caved in to the crowd for they “shouted all the louder for Barabbas.” Sadly, the crowd got the “verdict” they wanted!

Riley Gaines is a competitive swimmer who recognizes that men and woman are different. Consequently, she doesn’t think it is fair for men to compete against women. Lia Thomas is also a swimmer. Lia is over 6 feet tall, has broad shoulders, and a penis. Because Lia claims to be a woman, however, “she” was allowed to compete against women swimmers like Riley Gaines. Riley is much in the news for objecting to this. When Riley tried to speak at the San Francisco State University on April 6, 2023 she was assaulted by a host of shouting protestors. V iral footage of the event shows students chanting, shouting, and stomping inside the room and in the hallway during Gaines’ speech. Footage also shows police escorting Gaines to a private room as protestors surround her in the hallway, screaming in her face as they follow her. Gaines said: “Being held for ransom through the middle of the night in San Francisco by hundreds of protesters, you can only imagine the obscene and profane and heinous things that were being yelled at me, how I was being assaulted in ambush, she said. "I truly, in that moment, feared for my life." In response to those who say she is lying she responds: “There's audio evidence, there's video evidence, there are eyewitnesses who were there at the time. Heck, the officer who sent me the email saying that the charges were unfounded was being held for ransom in the room with me." The question is, should Riley suffer a false “verdict” or should she get true “justice?”

FYI - Florence Joyner (Flo Jo) set records in running that no woman has been able to break in 33 years! Wikipedia calls her the fastest “woman” ever recorded. In 2019, however, 76 high school boys ran faster than she did! Jesus made it clear: “At the beginning of creation God made them male and female.” (Mark 10:6) Zounds! It seems that males and females are different? In fact, God deliberately made men and women different. MedicineNet, however, disagrees with Jesus and lists 72 different genders. Fox News reported March 18, 2024 that another “expert” identified 107 genders. Other “experts” may list even more. While shouting may change the “verdict,” it does not change “reality”. It is interesting that surgeons who claim to be able to change your sex only offer two choices.

We must be kind and understanding to everyone, including those with a mental illness. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness that causes boys to think they are girls, and vice versa. Therians have a different mental illness. They believe they are “animals” instead of “people”. “Therian” is a shortened form of “therianthrope.” This is a compound word coming from the Greek word ther, meaning “wild beast,” and anthropos, meaning “human.” Many “Therians” believe they are canines like wolves, foxes, jackals and dogs. The New York Post reported that in 2022 thousands of Therians from 50 different countries showed up for a convention at the Hyatt Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. No matter how loud you “shout” or “bark”, however, you cannot change yourself from the way that God made you.

The Good News is that Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:16-21). Barabbas is a perfect example! Barnabas was guilty, but Jesus took his place and Barabbas went free. Jesus can do the same for you and me. Isaiah said it like this: “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:4-6)
