Dearest grandchild,

Today’s letter will deal with lying as a strategy. Jesus, as you know, was crucified by liars. He said to them: “You belong to your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (Jn. 8:44).

The Scriptures teach that God planted a garden in Eden. The garden was filled with trees but in the midst of the garden were two special trees. One was the tree of life, and the other was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 2:9). Adam and Eve were free to eat from every other tree, but were forbidden to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God warned: “When you eat of it you will surely die” (Gen. 2:17). Remember! God is true though every man is a liar (Rom. 3:4).

Lying and murder originated with the Devil. He actually wanted Adam and Eve to die and lying was his strategy to kill them. Therefore he deliberately lied to the woman and said: “You will NOT surely die” (Gen. 3:4). Even though Adam was not deceived (1 Tim. 2:14) he still joined with Eve in this wanton act of rebellion. Consequently, God held Adam responsible and we are told: “Just as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all have sinned” (Rom. 5:12). The Devil not only wanted Adam and Eve to die, he wants everyone to die. From the very beginning lying has been his strategy to kill us.

Andy Anderson has written a book titled “How Do You Kill Eleven Million People?”. The book describes the satanic strategy of Adolf Hitler. Hitler wanted to murder 11 million people and lying was an integral part of his strategy. (In addition to the millions killed in battle, Hitler actually killed 11,283,000 people in death camps between 1933 and 1945). Anderson explained how lying helped make it possible. Thousands of people, for example, were assembled at the railroad station. The empty cattle cars were waiting to take them to the gas chambers. Had they known this, of course, they would have resisted. To avoid a riot, therefore, a German officer with a pleasant voice lied to them. He apologized for their inconvenience. (Only a few armed guards were present to help make the lie seem credible) He said he was ashamed of the cattle cars but promised that their brief inconvenience would be generously rewarded. At the end of their journey he promised that they would be reunited with their families and given their own personal house in which to live. It worked! This is how you murder eleven million people. You lie to them!

Saul Alinsky (1/30/09 – 6/12/72) wrote an instruction for liberals titled “Rules For Radicals”. On the fourth fly leaf page is this tribute to Lucifer, the father of lies: “Lest we forget at least an over- the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history… the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.” Lucifer, as you know, is just another name for Satan. Apparently Alinsky admired the father of lies. In a letter to the editor of The Boston Globe (August 31, 2008) Alinsky's son David, gushed about how well Barak Obama had learned his father's teachings. Rules for Radicals was so important to Obama that in 2014 he took American tax dollars to translate and distribute Alinsky’s book in Macedonia to influence their election. While the major news networks refused to report it, Rep. Steve King publicly called out Obama for this outrageous behavior.

At the risk of offending you it seems that President Obama used the strategy of lying to pass his signature health care plan. Professor Jonathan Gruber, architect of the plan, bragged that Obamacare passed due to the stupidity of the American voter and their own lack of transparency. On Oct. 31, 2013, the New York Magazine put together videos documenting at least twenty-three times that President Obama promised Americans if they liked their doctor they could keep their doctor, and if they liked their healthcare plan, they could keep their health care plan. Professor Gruber knew this was a lie and said: “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.” It seems that lying about the health care plan was not an accident, but a strategy!

Lying is such a convenient strategy that little children learn to do it almost as soon as they can talk. Unfortunately, the benefits of lying are only short lived. Once exposed the liar faces two major problems. First it calls into question whatever he says in the future. Secondly, it also calls into question everything he has said in the past. Even more important is that the Judge of the Universe has declared that all unforgiven liars will be cast into a fiery lake of burning sulfur (Rev. 21:8).

Hitler’s lying had only short term success. Yes, it enabled him to murder 11 million people, but in the end it spelled his doom. Hitler’s Germany was completely defeated! To avoid capture by his enemies he swallowed a cyanide pill, and then put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. He was only 56 years old. Lying is a strategy of Satan! Instead of helping Hitler, it killed him! Don’t do it! “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.” (Eph. 4:25 KJV)
